The patterns formed by light and shadow in and on buildings fascinates me. The less ornamentation, the better. With just a touch of sunlight here and there, walls, windows, corners, and staircases transmute into an abstract and minimalist composition.
Gemstones, minerals and fossils are the results of Earth’s geologic processes. For example, onyx is a kind of quartz with beautiful parallel banding and is found in a variety of colors.

A gentle breeze blows across the lake. Deep steel blue. Puffy white clouds. Warm shades of greens. A touch of golden yellow. And wonderfully illuminated droplets taking hundreds of hues as the rainbow gradient shifts from red to violet.
Feathers of thousands of colors glimmer in the light. Delicate and strong. Blue, green, bronze, iridescent and mesmerizing tones. Too many to name. A high-pitched call resonates across the woods, giving the bird away well before I can spot him among the branches.
